From dawn to dusk, what an unforgettable time in Albuquerque, New Mexico! I checked into Hotel Cascada Friday evening to attend the International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta the next day. On Saturday, I woke up at 4am, took a shuttle from the hotel to the "park and ride" area. I definitely recommend taking the shuttle rather than driving yourself to the event to avoid the hour plus long traffic. As I entered the festival before sunrise, I had the chance to see the hot air balloon teams from all around the world set up and prep the balloons. I thought there were a dozen or two hot air balloons, but as the sun started to rise I saw that there were well over a hundred balloons. The Mass Ascension started at 7am, that's when all the balloons started to ascent and float above me. The moment in itself was beautiful and overwhelming. I chilled out until the Music Fiesta started after 1pm and headlining the concert was The Band Perry. It was my first time attending a country concert and I loved it! Kimberly Perry performed a version of "I Will Always Love You", by Whitney Houston and it was incredible to hear! I stayed until the Night Magic Glow event presented by Canon and got to see the fireworks afterwards. Seventeen hours later, I had a few sun burns here and there, a stomach full of carny food, and memories to last a life time. One day, I would love to take my kids there!
